Solid Rock Ministries is a Full Gospel Nondenominational Christ Centered Ministry. Vernon L. Walker, Sr. is the Founder and Pastor of Solid Rock Ministries. He became a Christian in 1978. However, he realized his need for something more in his life. In 1980, he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Shorty thereafter, he answered the call of God on his life and received his vision for ministry while attending Liberty Charismatic Bible College in Pensacola, Florida. He was still serving in the U.S. Navy at this time. While in Pensacola, he met and married Cynthia Hawthorne in December of 1981. They have two sons; Vernon Jr. And Vernard .
Vernon served as an Associate Minister for about four years with two Baptist Churches. In 1982, he and Cynthia moved to Jacksonville, Florida, and in 1984, accepted the Pastorate at a local Baptist Church where he Pastored for about four years. In 1988, he responded to the Vision that God had gived him back in 1980 by starting Solid Rock Ministries, aMinistry of Teaching and Preaching that explains and proclaims the Word of God with simplicity. Our Vision is to reach the believer and unbeliever in order to reach our world. Solid Rock is a multi-racial cross-cultural congregation that ministers to the entire family. We are committed to rentingremoving the traditional and cultural veils in advancing the kingdom.
